The “Monte Carlo” Gamble
Loot
2018

Computational algorithm or holiday destination.
Deterministic sampling or a vacation proposition.
Probability based on the spin of a roulette wheel.
Or a week in the sun with the person you feel.
Truly random events that are not a simulation.
Gambling on outcomes based on reconciliation.
No statistical sampling will help me make a choice.
The scatter of potential paths, just a screaming noise.
Is anything we ever do ever done once and for all?
Complete prevention, really protect against a fall?
Is the point of living that prediction is pointless?
Chaos theory demands the possibilities are endless.

The ability to exercise free will inside and outside our work is powerful for many. In many things we seek a surety that what we expect will happen. Where we each place our marker on the line between certainty and unknown is different. It is also different for each of us depending on the nature of the events and emotions depicted by the line. Free will or determinism is a theme of all science; physical and social.
